Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child 


 

  • A single girl child of her parents who is pursuing a PhD degree in any stream/discipline from a recognised University/College/ Institute is eligible to apply under the scheme.
  • The scholarship is applicable only to such a single girl child who has registered herself in a full-time and regular PhD program.
  • Candidates pursuing the PhD course in a part-time/distance mode are not eligible under this scheme. A scholar is not eligible for this fellowship if her research is intended/conducted through the open/part-time distance education mode or part-time mode.
  • The age limit for the girl students is up to the age of 40 years for the general category and 45 years for the reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC and PWD (Persons with Disabilities). This age is applicable as on the last date of submission of the online application.
  • Both, the students receiving the scholarship as well as the institution concerned, where the scholar is pursuing her PhD degree, are responsible to ensure that the terms, eligibility, and conditions of the scheme are followed properly and only the eligible candidates get the fellowship.

  • The unemployed candidates who have been awarded a PhD degree in the relevant subject/stream of Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences including languages are eligible to apply. In the case where the degree is not awarded, a Provisional Certificate may be accepted. Candidates already in regular service are not eligible to apply.
  • As on the date of or the last date of application, applicants should be below 35 years of age. For the SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Women/PWD (Persons with Disabilities) and Transgender categories, there shall be an age relaxation of 5 years. 
  • If the candidates selected for this scheme are availing of any other fellowship/scheme, he/she will have to resign from the same before accepting the UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
  • The candidates who have already availed of any kind of Post-Doctoral Fellowship or Scholarship from UGC must not apply under the scheme.
  •  General category applicants must have a minimum of 55% of marks or an equivalent percentage (converted from the CGPA score) at the Post Graduate level. There is a relaxation of 5% of marks for the reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ PWD (Persons with Disabilities) and Transgender).
